Working late into the night, I added several enhancements to the Twittering Arduino Temperature Gizmo ™. Chief among them, a HTTP page so I can query it at any time and fiddle with the digital outputs, force a tweet, refresh the page to get new states/values, and just plain because!
So as to not get slapped by the Hand Of God (my cable company) I wont be putting the status page out there. They don’t take kindly to serving up pages on their network.
Since several I/O are consumed by the ethernet shield, I was only able to implement 8 total I/O, 4 inputs and 4 outputs. Also limited by my choice of hookup cable between the terminal strips and the Arduino (CAT-5, hey it was handy!), I only implemented 4 analog inputs. I haven’t decided what to do with them yet aside from the temperature.
I think I’ll do the following:
- Light status
- A/C status
- A/C inlet and outlet temperature
- Relative Humidity
- —
- Profit!
There is no code release with this update, I’m not 100% happy with it yet, but I wanted to get the news out there. Next update will be the freezing of the feature set, pretty photography, mounting the board somewhere and hooking up the sensors.
Eventually I will be incorporating this with my Joomla test site, so the various statuses will show up on there in realtime. So expect completion of this project in the next couple days!
Share on FacebookThis was a triumph, I’m making a note here, huge success. It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction… We do what me must, because we can!
